Job Description
Pipeline Inspectors
JSG Professional Services ULC is currently accepting applications for experienced, competent and qualified Pipeline Inspectors for 2021/2021 Pipeline Construction projects. Â
- Pipeline Construction Managers/Assistant CM's
- Chief Inspectors/Assistant Chief
- General Inspectors
- Coating Inspectors
- Welding Inspectors
Must have one or all of experience in Clearing, grading, tie-in, access, bending, backfill pipeline experience
The Inspector plays a leading role in ensuring that the Pipeline Project is carried out correctly and that all construction activities comply with the undertakings to which JSG Professional Services ULC and our Inspectors are committed. The intent of all the inspection activities is to monitor, control, and ensure the minimization of construction practices or procedures which could have adverse effects on the safety of the work areas, the environment, or the final technical performance requirements of the pipeline system. This involves foresight and quick communicative action by all of the Inspectors involved. Such action must be conveyed to the Inspector’s immediate supervisor and also to the Contractor’s immediate supervisor on-site. The recognition of the need for early implementation of mitigation and corrective measures is a key function and responsibility of all Inspectors.
Education & CertificationsÂ
Pipeline Inspection Personnel may hold a valid industry recognized certification in the relevant trade(s), relevant experience or professional designation that may include but not be limited to:Â
- American Petroleum Institute (API) Certification – Successful completion of API examination API 1169.
- Minimum of three (3) years of field inspection experience.
- National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) Coating Inspector Certification Level II. Â
- Canadian Standards Association (CSA) / Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) Level II certified welding inspector for CSA Z662 scope.
- Valid journeyman trade certificate with red seal to demonstrate discipline knowledge and competency.Â
- Ten (10) years’ experience as a journeyman pressure welder;Â
- Engineering degree or engineering technologist diploma in a directly related field
- Ground Disturbance Level II training.Â
- 10 years experience in excavation and backfill in the pipeline industry as well as construction projects in the oil industry.Â
