Job Description

HR - Employee Relations Admin

Johnson Service Group, a nationally award winning staffing firm, is seeking an HR Generalist for a Biotech client in San Diego.

The position is on-site | Salary range: $70 - $75K depending on experience

Responsibilities:
  • Experience managing various types of leave of absence (LOA) programs such as FMLA, ADA, PDL, and others.
  • Works closely with the Safety, Health, and Environment team to handle worker’s compensation claims.
  • Provides HR support on career development, recruitment, performance management, compensation, training, LOA, and company policies.
  • Assists in implementing and communicating company policies and procedures.
  • Leads internal and external audit processes.
  • Ensures compliance by verifying new employee I-9 forms and conducting personnel file audits.
  • Manages new employee onboarding activities and HR operations.
  • Handles compliance-related tasks.
  • Acts as the primary contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits, compensation, leave administration, and company policies.
  • Experience with visa processes.
  • Demonstrates consistent attendance and professionalism in all interactions.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year managing LOA cases.
  • PHR preferred.
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional demeanor with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • High degree of personal initiative and achievement motivation, setting personal standards of excellence and ongoing performance improvement.
  • High level of self-confidence with ability to adapt to changing environments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and develop strong partnerships with clients and HR colleagues.
  • Strong analytical skills, including reporting, synthesizing data to identify themes and creating solutions to address identified issues.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
