Johnson Service Group is seeking a Site Supervisor to oversee an HVAC renovation project within the Newport News Public Schools system. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems and general contracting, with a minimum of five years of experience. This temporary role is well-suited for a retiree with industry expertise.
The Site Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating subcontractors, managing work schedules, and serving as on-site representative. A thorough understanding of construction drawings and specifications is required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong communication skills—both written (email) and verbal (phone)—are essential to effectively collaborate with school district representatives and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the primary liaison between subcontractors and the school district.
Open access to the site for subcontractors and oversee their work schedules.
Hold weekly meetings with subcontractors to discuss upcoming tasks and scheduling.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC systems and general contracting.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Excellent communication skills via email and phone.
