Johnson Service Group is seeking a Human Resource Generalist with Healthcare experience in Irvine, CA.
Salary Range: $80,000- $90,000

Job Summary: The HR Generalist is responsible for providing comprehensive human resources support and services to the organization's employees. This role reports directly to HR Manager; it involves managing all HR functions, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. Key Responsibilities and Duties:
California Employment Laws: Stay abreast of the latest employment laws and regulations in California, including wage and hour laws, leave policies, and anti-discrimination laws. Proactively conducts audits to ensure compliance.
Recruitment and Staffing: Ability to manage the full recruitment cycle, from job posting to onboarding, including creating job descriptions, conducting interviews, and negotiating job offers.
Employee Relations: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively manage employee relations, address conflicts, and foster a positive work environment. Knowledge of conflict resolution techniques is essential. Follow progressive disciplinary action process.
Benefits Administration: Understanding of California-specific benefits regulations and the ability to manage employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks. Manage open enrollment process.
Performance Management: Implement and manage performance appraisal processes, provide feedback to employees, and develop strategies for performance improvement.
Training and Development: Identify training needs, organize training programs, and support employee development initiatives to enhance skills and knowledge. Identify and address training needs within the healthcare context, such as compliance with healthcare regulations and patient confidentiality.
Compliance and Policy Development: Develop and update HR policies in accordance with California laws and regulations. Ensure the organization's compliance with all relevant employment laws. Conduct regular audits to ensure HR processes and records comply with industry standards.
HR Information Systems (HRIS): Proficiency in using HRIS software for managing employee data, generating reports, and streamlining HR processes.
Time and Attendance Management: Oversee timekeeping systems and ensure compliance with California labor laws regarding breaks, overtime, and meal periods. Implement and maintain alternative work schedules.
Onboarding and Offboarding: Develop and manage effective onboarding and offboarding processes to facilitate a smooth transition for new and departing employees.
HR Administration: Handle administrative tasks such as employee file maintenance, record-keeping, and HR documentation.

Confidentiality: Uphold the highest level of confidentiality when dealing with sensitive HR information.
Credentials, Education, Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Human Resources, Business Management, or other business-related discipline required. May accept additional years of experience in lieu of degree.
Minimum three (3) years of experience working as a Human Resources Generalist or Specialist required.
Minimum one (1) year of healthcare industry HR related experience required.
Knowledge of relevant federal, state and local regulations relating to Human Resources, i.e., Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Affirmative Action, ADA, FMLA/CFRA, etc.
Working knowledge of California labor laws strongly preferred.
Experience working with Paychex HRIS system preferred.
SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.
