Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm that is currently looking for an Import/Export Manager with 3-5 years’ experience working in an Aerospace environment. This is a Direct hire opportunity with an Aerospace company in Oxnard, CA.
Salary: $125K
Work Schedule: Monday- Thursday 10 hour days
SUMMARY
Responsible for managing the operations of the Export Compliance Group, regulatory compliance with Imports, including the preparation of license applications and Agreements to ensure compliance with Department of State and Department of Commerce rules and regulations. Acts as an Empowered Official for the US Department of State. Responsible for maintaining all export compliance records and files and for independent export compliance determinations. Responsible for contract administration functions. Coordinates all yearly externals audits and training sessions for all company personnel. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Prepares and processes all export license applications, technical assistance agreements, and manufacturing license agreements
Plans and coordinates export management activities, and Import regulatory compliance requirements and yearly training sessions for both
Maintains compliance records including shipment receipts and documentation of export transactions.
Determines the classification of products under the US Harmonized tariff schedules, CCL, ITAR Regulations
Responsible for maintaining records and record retention of all trade compliance documents
Responsible for monitoring, tracking, and documentation of international activity
Ensures that administrative and regulatory requirements related to export and import licensing and compliance are met.
Assists with audit activity for export and import compliance
Responsible for the implementation of monitoring and trade compliance policies and procedures
Liaison between Export Compliance Group with employees, customers and suppliers
Communicate with all internal departments to determine program requirements and ensure compliance
Interprets requirements and processes of sales orders
Prepares and submits documents and supporting data, where applicable, negotiating contracts in accordance with management guidelines and procedures, and preparing minutes of negotiation.
Reviews, interprets and negotiates terms and conditions in accordance with company acceptable provisions.
Maintains Contract files to assure that all orders, change orders, schedules correspondence, data submittals and all other pertinent documents are retained in active files through completion of all contractual obligations.
Negotiate issues which arise during the import or export of goods with US Customs
Manage regulatory or compliance issues arising with PTI's or customer's Freight Forwarders
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises and directs activities of company personnel responsible for Export Compliance. Provides regulatory input on Import Compliance to all company personnel involved in same. QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year accredited college or university or related experience. Previous experience in filing export, and or import, licensing.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Membership of ICPA - International Compliance Professional Organization
Attend one ITAR and one BIS seminar annually
Maintain/obtain Certified US Export Compliance Officer status
