Job Description

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking an Instructional Designer.  This position is a one year contract position.  (remote)
Work Schedule: Monday- Friday.  7am- 4 pm. PST 
Hourly pay: $65- $70.00 per hour

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
This position reports to the Manager of Operations Training. The incumbent is responsible for designing and developing effective and engaging learning programs for employees in Operations. The Instructional Designer is responsible for the execution of all aspects of program development, including the definition of learning outcomes, organization of content, and creation of materials

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree or training certification and two (2) to three (3) years of experience designing learning (including e-learning) in a business environment preferred.
• Proficient experience developing training for healthcare insurance highly          preferred.
• Excellent understanding of the psychology of adult learning concepts and principles.
• Moderate knowledge of the Instructional Systems Design (ISD) model for workforce development.
• Proven working experience in instructional design and instructional technology.
• Excellent lesson and curriculum planning skills.
• Solid knowledge of course development software and of Microsoft Office Suite that leads to the development of job aids, training material/content for instructor lead, or web-based training.
• Excellent visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard.
• Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, and audio scripts/video scripts.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing exceptional customer service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Learning Assessment
• Work collaboratively with subject matter experts to assess learning and performance needs to craft effective and efficient plans for performance solutions.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of performance solutions against business needs; provide metrics summarizing effectiveness and making recommendations for improvement.
• Devise modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of a program.
• Provide input to training strategy and the development of specific training development plans by creating a system to evaluate the quality of training courses and implementing improvements.
Design and Development
• State instructional end goals for all training programs and lessons and create content that matches.
• Apply tested instructional design theories, practices, and methods to respond to the training needs.
• Analyze and apply trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design.
• Develop master templates for all instructional material that follows specific brand guidelines.
• Develop complete courses and curriculum, including facilitator and participant    guides.
• Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content.
• Oversee the creation of supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games, etc.).
Project Management
• Manages instructional design process from inception to completion, creating project lifecycle and planning documents to ensure deliverables and milestones are met by all parties involved.
• Manage projects by scoping, estimating, identifying resources, providing updates, and mitigating risk.
• Develop a knowledge management strategy for material reviews and change requests.
• Meets with stakeholders on a regular basis to ensure project expectations and goals are being met.
