Johnson Service Group, Inc., is actively seeking an Instrumentation Engineer II to work with our client in the Magnolia, AR area. This is slotted as a long term contract position with the potential to hire permanently.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, procure, and startup Process Instrumentation systems such as Control Valves, Flow meters, Process Analyzers, Burners Control Systems, and other I/O systems.
Participate in installation, checkout, startup, troubleshooting, and tuning of new plant process controls equipment.
Supports P&ID development, Control strategy, Estimating, Scheduling. Construction Package Design, including location plans, termination drawings, installation details, scope definition, I/O lists, Instrument lists through each project phase.
Electrical specification and selection (Lighting, High, Medium, and Low Voltage Transformer, MCC, Capacitor, VFD).
Electrical design, startup, and troubleshooting (Arc Flash remediation, Lighting, Service Feeder, Transformer, MCC, Danfoss and Allen Bradley VFD, Motor controls, ETAP model, Ground fault protection, fuse coordination, Area classification analysis).
Trains and assists in development of conceptual layouts and as necessary to determine the simplest, most efficient approach in solving engineering tasks at hand
Coordinate with process engineers to obtain process data for use in specifying tagged field instruments
Prepare technical bid evaluations and make recommendations for purchase
Interface with suppliers to ensure compliance with specifications
Review vendor data to assure specifications and project requirements are met
Trains and assists in detailed design calculations and sketches for all electrical and Controls work associated with the project. Calculations shall be done neatly and filed in an organized manner for transmittal to the Client at the completion of the project
Assists the design/drafting group
Monitors and becomes familiar with drawings in progress, working with the Lead Designer to help ensure conformance to design calculations
Trains to develop knowledge of the interfaces required with other disciplines to ensure the smooth flow of vital information necessary for the scheduled completion of the project
Qualifications:
BS in Electrical Engineering or Physics in technically related field required
FE exam passage or equivalent is preferred
Knowledge of Excel, Approach, Access, Word, SAP
Microsoft Office
Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC,
Functional Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Good oral and written communication
Able to perform job walks wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in an operating facility
