Johnson Service Group is looking for a Lab Tech for our client in San Jose. This role involves conducting microbiological water analysis, preparing chemical reagents and quality control standards, and ensuring compliance with state and safety requirements through laboratory inspections and quality assurance tasks.
Responsibilities:
Perform water analysis for microbiological parameters with minimal supervision.
Prepare chemical reagents, media preparation, and microbial quality control standards.
Maintain inventory and purchase supplies and reagents as needed.
Perform quality control tasks to ensure adherence to State requirements.
Perform laboratory safety inspections
Skills:
Experience in operating and troubleshooting basic laboratory equipment.
Experience in quality control and quality assurance tasks.
Familiarity with the ELAP and/or TNI standard, or equivalent as it pertains to water/wastewater analysis.
Some experience in field sampling and completing chain-of-custody documentation preferred.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite of applications, advanced-level knowledge of Excel and Word preferred.
Experience with using Laboratory Information Management System.
Lab Tech I Requirements:
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
Two (2) years of chemical, biological, or bacteriological laboratory experience.
Substitution-Â Twelve (12) semester units of college level course work in physical, natural, or earth sciences may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
Valid California driver’s license.
Lab Tech II requirements:Â
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
Four (4) years of chemical, biological, or bacteriological laboratory experience.
Substitution-Â Twelve (12) semester units of college level course work in physical, natural, or earth sciences may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
Valid California driver’s license.
Part Time: 20Â hours per weekÂ
Lab tech 1: $34.08 or Lab tech 2: $37.58
