Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized Professional Staffing and Recruiting firm that is currently looking for a Lab Test Technician. This is a contract to hire opportunity with a company in the western suburbs of Chicago.
Job Duties:
Safely perform laboratory tests to a variety of different flammability standards.
Safely perform experiments using calorimeters to gather thermal data for reactive materials.
Document experimental results.
Collaborate with engineers on experimental design.
Maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation, which includes but is not limited to troubleshooting, conducting preventative maintenance, performing calibrations, and minor repairs.
Requirements:
College coursework or degree in engineering, chemistry, or biology strongly preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required.
Lab experience is strongly preferred.
Excellent written and oral skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision most of the time.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Must be able to follow written direction and maintain a good laboratory notebook.
Previous experience with Swagelok fittings preferred.
Previous experience with industry standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO, IEC, NFPA, etc.) preferred.
