Johnson Service Group (JSG) is currently looking for a Lead Construction Manager with 10 years of experience. This is a contract to potential direct hire opportunity with one of the world’s most respected design, engineering, and project management consultancies and can be located in Rochester NY.
Pay $60/hour.
The Lead Construction Manager will be requested to perform the following tasks:
Development, planning, constructability support during design phase, construction, commissioning and closeout activities.
Review of the construction specification prepared by the Engineering Firm.
Verifying the BOQ and Pricing tables provided by the engineering contractor for the various
packages by physical work units that is buildable, measurable and identifiable, with a unit price.
Prepare Construction RFP including all construction requirements and defining the Construction BOQ to be included in the contract.
Review the engineering provided price definition document: defining the scope of each price applicable to each physical and measurable unit to be built.
Preparation of an Offer Evaluation Technical Report (ITEO) for each construction package in
conjunction with the project manage and project engineers technically validating the Construction Contractors who are capable of building the package under the conditions set out by the applicable documentation. This report must be reviewed and approved by Client.
Lead the construction Kick-off meeting with the Construction Contractor.
Review and Accept of the contractor’s Safety, Quality Control (ITPs) and Environmental
Management Plans that apply to each package.
Review and Accept of the contractor’s execution procedures prior to the beginning of activities.
Control of work schedules carried out by the Construction Contractors and update of production
progress.
Working with CM and FCM - Field Change Management working with field engineer to provide recommendation of approval of field changes and impact to cost and schedule.
Must be able and willing to be trained in E-STAR / CONVEX (switching and tagging) trained.
Qualifications:
BS/BA degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET (or equivalent) accredited college/university and 10 years of experience in the following construction subjects:
15 years of experience in the following construction subjects:
Construction Management of Large Substation and / or Transmission group of Projects (Construction Budget > 20 Mil)
Managing construction managers and teams of more than 10 construction people
Manage & estimate the construction Budget, Progress, Forecast, Schedule and resources at a multi project level in all the phases (Initiation, Planification, Execution & Closeout)
Knowledge of the Safety (OSHA), Quality and Environmental Electrical Industry Protocols.
Agile Project Management Software User
Excel, Word & Power Point
Microsoft Project / Primavera
AutoCAD
Coordination of works with the Electrical Control Center (ECC) and Utility Operation Groups.
Managing contractual construction T&Cs during negotiation in Request for Proposal processes and during construction phase.
Construction, maintenance and testing of electrical equipment
Start-up and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems
Electrical Field engineering
Troubleshooting of construction, electrical equipment or systems testing failures.
