Johnson Service Group, a nationally recognized recruiting firm, is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our manufacturing client in Ladson, SC. This is a full time position, not contract offering highly competitive benefits and will support 1st shift operations.
Summary: The incumbent will perform general maintenance repairs for assigned equipment and machinery in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Performs monthly preventative maintenance to ensure facility equipment are operating properly
Performs general repairs to equipment that do not require a specialized technician
Inspects and identifies equipment in need of repair
Maintains and orders inventory of maintenance supplies
Consults with facility maintenance leader on items that require more specialized repairs
Consults with machinists and inspectors to follow up with maintenance requests
Required:
Prior experience performing maintenance of metal cutting machinery
Must possess basic electrical maintenance knowledge using a volt-ohmmeter
Ability to perform general mechanical and light repair tasks on machinery, equipment and building facilities
Ability to follow instructions from senior maintenance workers and maintenance leads
Capable of using API for scheduling and signing off maintenance tasks
Ability to read/write/speak English
Ability to use hand tools and power tools
Excellent time management skills
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED
1-2 years maintenance experience preferred
Must be able to move/lift 50lbs throughout the day
Must be able to operate forklift/lift carts
