As a Structures Technician, here is what you’ll be doing at the core, day to day.
•    Perform thorough inspection of aircraft structures, identifying and documenting any signs of damage or wear.
•    Comply with environmental health, safety policies, and procedures. 
•    Execute sheet metal repairs and modifications on various structural components, including but not limited to the wing, fuselage, and tail sections.
•    Fabricate and/or modify structural modifications on aircraft parts.
•    Perform minor structural repairs on composite components either attached or detached. 
•    Perform mechanical, electrical removals and installations as required.
•    Interpret and follow aircraft maintenance manuals, blueprints, and technical specifications.
•    Assist with complex structural repairs on/off aircraft.
•    Utilize precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure accurate repairs and compliance with aviation regulations.
•    Inspect confined areas of airframe.
•    Stay current on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to aviation structural maintenance.

 

Here’s what is required to succeed as a Structures Technician.
  • A&P License or Airframe License REQUIRED
  • Minimum of 3 years of structural sheet metal repair and modification experience or sustained similar experience.
  • Corporate jet aircraft or commercial aircraft experience preferred.  
  • CRJ airframe experience a plus.
  • MRO experience a plus.
  • Military aircraft maintenance experience (Depot/Isochronal/Phase inspections) a plus.        
  • Completed Sheetmetal A/C Tech school or equivalent schooling is preferred.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) or Airframe (A) License is preferred, not required. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Knowledge of aircraft structures and materials.
  • Able to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings.
  • Possess required set of tools.
  • Ability to effectively communicate aircraft maintenance actions both verbally and in writing. 
  • Comfortable working with technology / entering aircraft maintenance actions into a computer-based system.
  • Ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA) if applicable. 
  • Must be comfortable with shift work; we are a 24/7 operation with 12-hour shifts which include days, nights, and weekends.
