Johnson Service Group, a nationally award winning staffing firm, is looking to hire a Material Handler II for an innovative technology company in San Diego.
This is a Direct Hire Role | Onsite | Candidate must have authorization to work in the US as our client isn’t able to provide current or future sponsorship.
The Material Handler II will be responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials within the warehouse, storage facility, or worksite. Under general supervision, this role involves a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the team to enhance existing systems, processes, and daily operations to more efficiently meet organizational goals.
Job Responsibilities
Review work orders or follow verbal instructions to determine materials or containers to be loaded, unloaded, or moved within the warehouse, storage facility, or worksite.
Maintain critical data elements in the system.
Monitor manufacturing order kitting schedules and update the kitting tracker as needed, ensuring kits are pulled on schedule and delivered to production in a timely manner.
Ensure product movement from production through packaging to shipping.
Perform material analysis and maintain records as part of cycle counting operations and performance tracking.
Open containers using steel cutters, crowbars, hammers, or other hand tools.
Load and unload materials from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves manually.
Transport materials from storage or worksites to designated areas, including the manufacturing floor, using a hand truck.
Count, weigh, and record materials moved or handled in the ERP system.
Attach tags or labels to materials and ensure proper identification.
Uphold and promote the organization’s mission, values, and culture.
Ideal Qualifications
Familiarity with MRP System.
Experience working with VLM.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficient in MS Office applications.
Basic knowledge of computers and data entry.
Requirements
2+ years of warehouse experience.
High school diploma or GED.
