The Mechanical Engineer in this role will report to the Equipment Design group manager and must possess strong interpersonal skills, thriving in both internal and external team environments. This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include:
Generating detailed drawings and parts lists for equipment fabrication
Creating general arrangement drawings for proprietary equipment, and contributing to the development of new products and expansion of existing product lines using advanced 3D modeling software.
Preparing and issuing quotes for purchase requisitions, performing technical reviews of vendor-designed components that interface with proprietary equipment, and inspecting fabricated components to ensure they meet corporate quality standards.
Regular interaction with clients and suppliers, and a commitment to safety standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Inventor, and MS Office is essential.
The role may involve occasional travel to job sites and fabrication facilities, with up to 15% travel required, though it is not frequent.
A valid passport and US driver’s license are necessary.
Experience in the cement or minerals industries is highly desirable, with specific knowledge of equipment such as vertical roller mills, preheater cyclones, rotary kilns, clinker coolers, tube mills, and the design of gas ducts, material transport chutes, and dedusting ductwork.
Familiarity with SAP Document Manager System (DMS) is also preferred.
