Location: St. Petersburg, FL (33701) OR West Palm Beach, FL (33401)

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Basic knowledge of market trends. Able to follow and implement market strategies.Â
Solid understanding of underwriting guidelines, principles, and philosophies.Â
Makes sound underwriting decisions and accurately identifies risks.Â
Basic knowledge of compliance and insurance laws.Â
Basic understanding of insurance financials.Â
Partner with a designated group of agents by building strong relationships, counseling on creative solutions, and taking time to understand what’s most important to the agent and clientÂ
Consult and help agents understand our appetite and apply that knowledge to risk selectionÂ
Utilize available tools to help monitor the quality of your book of business and use the knowledge in your individual decisionsÂ
Collaborate with Distribution and Marketing colleagues to co-create plans that drive the business.Â
Understanding and managing risks
Contributing proportionately to production goals
Meeting or exceeding business unit service standardsÂ
Building or improving trading partner relationshipsÂ
Demonstrating sound underwriting disciplineÂ
Ownership and management of production within assigned underwriting territoryÂ
Solicit new business opportunities from assigned customersÂ
Understand and achieve retention and rate goals for renewal businessÂ
Strong negotiation, marketing, and problem-solving skillsÂ
Highly capable of prioritizing and multi-taskingÂ
Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience preferred.
Minimum 1-2Â years experience in High Net Worth insurance underwriting.Â
E&S Experience is preferred.
Technical underwriting knowledge and skills reflective of progression in positions of increasing responsibility.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Must strive to provide service levels that exceed industry standards and demonstrate teamwork across functional areas.
Possess the aptitude to work in a highly competitive market, be innovative in business production and retention; be able to adapt to changing markets and internal requirements.
Strong time management skills, being able to prioritize, and handle multiple tasks.
Resourceful and results driven with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products and internet research tools.
