Job Description

Johnson Service Group is looking for a PCBA Test Engineer for one of our Clients in the Bay Area.  The Test Engineer would define customer requirements (software and hardware) test preparation processes & assembly Maintenance, monitor, and implement changes and new requirements.  Participate in diagnoses, root cause analysis, quality, continuous improvement, optimization, maintaining and executing quality program, calibration, ISO, Lean, etc.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for qualification of test processes, such as acceptance test, test coverage and other equipment test. (Includes test infrastructure)
  • Creates and maintains programs for the Flying Probe, ICT, and other test equipment as needed
  • Liaises with test fixture/software vendors and customers for all test processes and peripherals
  • Responsible for directing, supporting, analyses, and failure diagnoses for product, equipment, and software (either this position completes the work, or it interfaces with technicians to complete the work.)
  • Develops and produces various reports for internal and external use on an as needed basis
  • Support all test activities carried out in manufacturing either directly or in supervising and assisting test technicians and operators in test station set up and PCBA test
  • Quality and continuous improvement for test processes; includes ISO, documentation, test optimization and test equipment qualifications if required
  • Liaises with customer representatives as directed on test related issues on customer designs
  • Supports product and process root cause analysis
  • Performs with minimum supervision and technical assistance while maintaining strict adherence to quality standards
  • Responsible for test time calculations and NRE requirements
  • Supports lean/continuous improvement philosophies regarding preventive actions and department operation
  • Prepares activity reports and other data input as required
  • These tasks are performed in accordance with engineering instructions, company standard operating procedures, professional trainings, customer requirements, and individual experience.
Qualifications Required/Job Specifications:
  • Seven (7) years of Test Engineering experience in a contract manufacturing environment of PCBA and mechanical assemblies
  • Fluent with program generation on Keysight i3070 ICT, Takaya 9411/1400/1600.
  • Fluent with ICT fixture design, establishing specifications and interacting with 3rd party fixture builders.
  • Experience with the implementation of Boundary Scan in the ICT environment, bench test (Asset/Corelis/JTAG/Goepel) platforms a definite plus
  • Solid decision making skills.
  • Possess conflict resolution skills and the ability to apply techniques at all levels of the organization
  • Possess a high level of integrity in handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree, formal training on the aforementioned ATE, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to use common sense to solve practical problems.
  • Utilizes oscilloscopes and other test equipment to generate test programs and diagnose and debug circuits
  • Familiar with and utilizes precision measuring devices and electronic equipment to ensure compliance of parts and products with established standards and specifications
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret schematics, technical procedures, and various reports
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees; interface with other departments and customers as necessary
  • Maintain courteous, professional, and effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Develop and maintain courteous and effective working relationships with clients, vendors, and representatives of external organizations
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, problem solving, decision making and project management
  • Knowledge of ISO procedures and the ability to maintain quality records and execute ISO activities
  • Proficient with PC-based software including CAD applications and Microsoft Office Suite, including intermediate to advanced knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Knowledge and understanding of calibration processes, activities and schedules
  • Strong, effective organizational skills required; detail oriented; ability to multitask.
  • Must be self-directed, dependable, and motivated with excellent relationship and time management skills.
  • Available to work the days and hours necessary to perform all assigned responsibilities and tasks.  Must be available (especially during regular business hours or shifts) to communicate with supervisors, customers, vendors, and any other person or organization with whom interaction is required to accomplish work and goals.  This may include odd hour teleconferences with global facilities.

Salary starting at $100k DOE Physical Demands and Work Environment:
