Pay Rate: $30.00 HR Preferred hours- 7am-4pm or 8am to 5pm
Job Description:
Under general supervision, following specific instructions, well-defined procedures, and utilizing the company’s computer system and ADP’s Workforce Now, employee prepares payroll for hourly and salaried employees, as well as performs other related tasks as assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform its key responsibilities. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the key responsibilities. Key Responsibilities:
Liaison with ADP.
Processes bi-weekly payroll and manual payroll checks for both hourly and salaried employees:
Organizes and maintains payroll transaction information.
Compiles and reconciles Time & Attendance data for the pay period.
Ensures the accuracy of Time Off data.
Calculates payroll and verifies totals.
Maintains records and reports for safekeeping.
Prepares cash transfer request to fund payroll.
Records cash transactions for payroll related receipts and disbursements.
Verify the accuracy of employee accrued vacation hours and record adjustments as needed following approval by the Controller.
Processes bi-weekly and periodic funding of the company’s 401(k) Plan:
Process data and transmits information to the Plan’s Provider.
Maintains analysis of 401(k) deferrals and contributions paid.
Ensures and verifies that the various taxing authorities receive timely payments.
Sets up and maintains employee garnishments.
Reconciles quarterly and annual reports.
Establishes and maintains audit trail from gross wages to quarterly and annual tax filings.
Verifies the effective employer payroll tax rates.
Develops and maintains ADP custom reports as may be needed from time to time.
Assists in the administration of the company’s Affirmative Action Program.
Assists in the administration of employee health benefit programs.
Completes annual salary surveys.
Performs clerical tasks that includes, but is not limited to, maintaining personnel files, other reports, and related records.
Performs tasks promptly, equal to or exceeding established standards.
Conducts himself/herself in a business-like and civil manner.
Reacts to changes productively and performs other essential tasks as assigned.
Works consistently with overtime as required.
Travel as required.
Skills and Requirements:
Applicant must be ITAR compliant
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interface effectively with others inside and outside of the Accounting department.
Team oriented.
Flexibility and adaptability.
Ability to work well with only a modest amount of repeated instructions.
Proficient knowledge of all federal and State regulations regarding the processing of payroll, payroll taxes, and employee benefits.
Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now.
Proficiency with Windows Operating System and all Microsoft Office products.
Proficient Excel skills, including the ability to produce pivot tables and lookup tables.
Effective time management skills.
Attention to detail.
Continuous improvement focus.
Physical Requirements:
Manual dexterity to safely and proficiently operate company equipment such as copiers, calculators, and personal computers.
Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time operating various computer software applications.
Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
