Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking a Portable Metrology Technician for the San Jose, CA area. This is an opportunity to work for a growing company.
What you’ll do
? Program and operate Portable Coordinate Measurement Machines (PCMM) using Polyworks software to create measurement routines
? Lead the establishment of an aircraft inspection plan including the programming of PCMMs, CMMs and other inspection tools
? Interpret engineering drawings and translate them into PCMM programs and inspection plans
? Perform inspections of parts and assemblies to ensure compliance with design tolerances and specifications.
? Record and maintain accurate inspection data and reports to support statistical process analysis
? Regularly inspect and maintain PCMM machines to ensure accuracy and reliability
? Ensure the PCMM maintains calibration
? Troubleshoot and resolve PCMM-related issues as they arise
? Ensure traceability of measurements and maintain compliance with company quality management systems
What you need
? High School Diploma or equivalent required
? 5+ years’ experience in metrology with programming skills in Polyworks, and hands on experience using with Hexagon or Faro metrology tools
? Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
? Experience creating and approving first article inspections with working knowledge of the tools required for inspection
? Ability to identify/recognize inspection errors and nonconformances and initiate corrective action
? Experience with MES systems and creating inspection plans electronically
? Experience working in a manufacturing environment in aerospace or other highly regulated environments
? Ability to work within a team environment
Bonus qualifications
? Associate degree or technical certification in Quality Assurance, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
? Experience creating real time dashboards using Sigma
? Experience with developing/validating automated inspection equipment in a manufacturing environment
? Experience with SAP
