JSG is hiring a Procurement Manager - Contract Manufacturing/ EMS in Fayetteville, AR.
Responsible for driving/managing purchasing projects that have critical impact on KTC Revenue and/or customer satisfaction. Assist Purchasing Manager in completing special projects relating to customer flexibility, inventory and margin performance. Drive cost down, inventory control, and special projects while supporting the goals and objectives of the company. Directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in the support of purchased materials management in the organization.
Job Duties:Â
Lead NPI procurement activities to ensure they are completing their NPI and initial production purchases in a manner that supports the project plan created by the Program Manager.
Ensure buyers are executing activities effectively. This includes: timely procurement of goods; sourcing from the correct (preferred, when possible) suppliers; buying goods at the correct price; procuring goods in the correct quantities; following SOP and ensuring on-time delivery of goods.
Ensure the buyers follow the purchased materials shortage mitigation and escalation process. Serve as escalation point for buyers in the resolution of material shortages, to support MRP dates, escalating any critical issues as high as necessary, up to and including the CEO.
Identify opportunities and implement efforts to obtain favorable pricing for required production materials.
Support supply chain programs to allow to maintain optimum inventory levels.
Work with program management to control, recover, and disposition excess and obsolescence
Work with purchasing team to mitigate excess and obsolete material on order
Review and monitor action messages for purchasing pull-ins, push-outs, and cancellations
Negotiate and monitor NCNR status of production material
Develop and implement inventory reduction initiatives
Work with vendors to return E&O material through RMA process
Identify material liability and negotiate 3rd party disposition of material
Identify and implement site to site opportunities for consumption of E&O or shortage solutions
Lead purchasing efforts for customer’s new and existing production, including, but not limited to, identifying customer needs, collaborating with Master Scheduler to understand production dates, component status and communicate pertinent information to direct team
Lead purchasing efforts to develop and implement supply chain solutions to provide customers with increased flexibility.
Bachelor’s degree in business or a related discipline.
Minimum of seven years’ experience in materials and purchasing.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience negotiating contracts in a cost competitive environment.
Experience with domestic and foreign supply chains.
Strong leadership skills; ability to deal and relate to people at all levels of the organization.
Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and materials. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy. Able to relate to and work with diverse groups of people.
Self-motivated with demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in a timely manner in a fast-paced environment.
Sound written and oral communication skills; must be able to write and understand routine reports, follow oral and written instructions, and communicate effectively.
Must have knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment and be familiar with commonly used email, internet, word processing, database and spreadsheet software/applications.
