Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting for an experienced, Product Engineer, for a directhire position in Knoxville, TN 37914. Â This manufacturer specializes in the design and production of world class water purification solutions around the globe.Â
This project engineer will need to have experience managing the manufacturing of water treatment systems and will require ASME 8 experience with boiler pressure codes. Our client is targeting a base salary or $85,000 - $95,000/year with a full benefits package. Partial relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Responsibilities:
Communicate and collaborate with the entire project team to work towards success (engineering, project management, procurement, and manufacturing)
Interact directly with clients to answer technical queries and communicate / solidify design.
Review technical specifications and exceptions/clarifications to evaluate scope, requirements, and determine execution plan.
Size equipment to specifications as needed including Heat Exchangers, Water Pretreatment Equipment, Evaporator Systems, Reverse Osmosis (RO) Systems.
Specify and obtain technical quotes for non-standard components such as pumps, valves, instruments.
Develop Project P&ID’s.
Perform calculations to meet code and regulations.
Ability to act as the technical lead for the project team in a Matrix organization to include designers / engineers across multiple disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation and controls (I&C).
Develop test procedures from specifications and standard test procedures.
Approve drawings/BOM’s per established procedures with input from sketches, calculations, specifications, etc.
Assist performance testers in equipment set-up and testing.
Prepare test reports as necessary for customer review and approval.
Education / Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
6 + years of experience in Industrial Water Purification.
Previous engineering experience related to product design, manufacturing engineering, or related experience required.
ASME 8 experience with boiler pressure codes.
Experience using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD a plus.
Ability to solve problems using scientific and analytical skills.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Current PE or working towards PE certification is a plus.
