Azure DevOps Project Manager Role Summary
The Azure DevOps PM will support multiple cloud-based projects within the Azure ecosystem. They will be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of cloud migration efforts, platform modernization, and application enhancement projects. This is a senior-level delivery-focused role requiring experience in technical environments, though not hands-on execution.
Must-Haves
Project Management Experience in Azure Cloud Environments
Candidates must have worked on Azure-related projects such as cloud migrations, Azure foundation setup, or platform modernization.
Experience with CI/CD Concepts
Understanding of continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines is essential.
Does not require Azure certification, but knowledge of how pipelines and environments are structured in Azure is important.
Proven Delivery in Technical Projects
Full-cycle delivery of technical initiatives in Azure or similar cloud environments.
Project Management Tools
Jira or Azure DevOps (for backlog and sprint management)
Microsoft Project, Microsoft Planner, Visio
Standard Microsoft 365 suite: Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive
Methodology Knowledge
Hands-on experience delivering projects in both Agile and Waterfall frameworks.
Must be capable of navigating hybrid delivery models depending on project and team structure.
Project Scale Experience
Must be comfortable managing projects with budgets ranging from $350,000 up to nearly $1 million.
Ability to manage 2 to 5 concurrent projects, depending on size and complexity.
Communication & Leadership
Strong stakeholder engagement, schedule management, and reporting.
Able to prioritize, replan, and lead under changing conditions.

Azure-Specific Experience
Hands-on familiarity with tools or environments involving:
Azure DevOps
Entra ID
API Management
Experience with Microsoft Fabric or Microsoft Purview
Helpful but not required; these are platforms being implemented within the broader Azure data space.
Sector Experience
Utility industry background is not required for this role.
Experience from other regulated sectors (e.g., energy, oil & gas, telecom) is acceptable and potentially beneficial.
