Johnson Service Group is looking for a Public Information Educator for one of our Clients in San Jose. This Educator would help support outreach communications including, Social Media, Newsletters, gathering public neighborhood information, etc.
Responsibilities:
Â
Engaging with the neighborhood adjacent to facility’s construction of the Reliability Improvement Project.
Assist in developing content for a regular printed and electronic neighborhood newsletter to promote the latest construction-related activities and updates.
Assist in creating engaging social media content and posts for social media outlets (Facebook and Instagram)
Assist in coordinating water treatment tours to community groups as needed.
Assist in compiling a database of active homeowners and neighborhood groups interested in the Reliability Improvement Project.
Participate in targeted neighborhood meetings such as those held on a quarterly basis or monthly online.
Qualifications:

Perform various public outreach activities.
Implementing public engagement and outreach strategies that inform, involve, and/or collaborate with community members or stakeholders.
Effectively use technology tools and applications to implement effective tactics to achieve positive outreach, engagement, and awareness from neighborhoods and stakeholders.
Develop key messaging and collateral materials in support of outreach activities. In addition to listening and understanding neighborhood concerns
Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in communications, journalism, public relations, graphic and web design, education, or a related field. Directly related experience may be substituted for the college requirement based on one and one-half years of experience for one year of education to a maximum of four years.
3 to 5 years of experience in performing public information, graphic and web design, education, volunteer, or outreach activities.
Rate starting at $48.00/hr DOE
