Johnson Service Group is looking for a Public Information Representative for one of our Clients in San Jose. This role will support the companies Office of Communications with Water Utility project outreach with a primary focus on Water Treatment Plant projects. A key aspect of this work will be related to engaging with the neighborhood adjacent to the Rinconada Water Treatment Plant during the facility’s construction of the Reliability Improvement Project.Â
Key Responsibilities:
 Assist in developing content for a regular printed and electronic neighborhood newsletter to promote the latest construction-related activities and updates.
Assist in creating engaging social media content and posts for companies social media outlets (Facebook and Instagram)
Assist in coordinating water treatment tours to community groups as needed.
Assist in compiling a database of active homeowners and neighborhood groups interested in the Reliability Improvement Project.
 Participate in targeted neighborhood meetings such as those held on a quarterly basis or monthly online.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated knowledge of AP Style
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
 Experience working with community organizations and neighborhood groups
Tracking and delivering multiple projects running simultaneously and ensuring successful completion is a helpful skillset
Knowledge of customer service software and systems
Requirements:Â
Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, graphic design, public relations, education, or a related field. Equivalent experience may substitute for education (1.5 years of experience per year of education, up to 4 years).
Experience: Three (3) years of experience in public relations, graphic design, education, community outreach, or similar fields.
License: Valid California driver’s license
Pay rate starting $48.13/hr.Â
