JSG is seeking a Quality Engineer for a client in the greater Santa Clarita Valley area. This is an onsite, direct hire opportunity with an established company.

Quality Engineer
In this position you will be responsible for driving quality improvements across the company.
• Independently assess Nonconforming Material Reports (NCMR) and approve rework instructions, MRB dispositions, and new documentation
• Review and interpret complex drawings, NDT criteria, and customer specifications
• Validate rejections using advanced inspection tools and approve MRB decisions with minimal guidance
• Investigate root causes and implement corrective actions; analyze trends and escalate recurring issues
•Create and submit technical documents (e.g., 8D reports) to customers
• Participate in cross-functional teams for problem-solving and continuous improvement
• Review and approve BOOs/BOMs, training materials, procedures, and contract specifications
• Train and mentor Associate Quality Engineers
Requirements
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering field
• Mechanical quality or machine shop background with hands-on understanding of fabrication, inspection, and production processes
• Strong understanding of ANSI Y14.5 (GD&T interpretation and application)
• Experience with SPC, 8D, PFMEA, APQP/PPAP, and MRB processes
Salary range: $95k - $130k per year
