Johnson Service Group is looking for a Quality Manager with 10-15  years’ experience working in a PCB manufacturing environment. This is a Direct hire position for an Aerospace company in Chatsworth, CA.

Salary: $125K

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of experience in aerospace or PCB manufacturing environments, with a strong background in PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), Lean Manufacturing, Just-In-Time (JIT) production, and AS9100 quality standards. This role requires deep expertise in manufacturing processes, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the ability to lead and mentor teams to drive operational efficiency and product quality.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Process Improvement & Lean Manufacturing: Lead initiatives to streamline manufacturing processes using Lean principles and methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping). Implement JIT production strategies to optimize inventory management, reduce lead times, and improve overall efficiency.
  • PPAP & Quality Management: Oversee the PPAP process for new product introductions, ensuring all required documentation and approvals are completed in compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Maintain high standards of product quality in line with AS9100 and other relevant certifications.
  • CMM & Inspection Coordination: Lead the implementation and use of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to ensure product accuracy and quality during the manufacturing process. Work closely with the quality assurance team to analyze measurement data and make process adjustments as needed.
  • Aerospace & PCB Manufacturing Expertise: Provide expert guidance on manufacturing processes specific to aerospace and PCB environments. Ensure compliance with aerospace industry regulations and quality standards, including AS9100.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure manufacturing processes are well-integrated and optimized. Lead the identification and resolution of manufacturing challenges that could affect product quality or delivery.
  • Project Management: Lead and support complex engineering projects from design through to production, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and production staff. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and promote best practices in manufacturing engineering.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure that all manufacturing activities comply with industry standards and regulations, particularly AS9100 and relevant aerospace certifications. Maintain comprehensive documentation for all processes, audits, and inspections.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related field) is required.
Experience:
  • 10-15 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, ideally within the aerospace or PCB manufacturing industry.
  • Extensive experience with PPAP, CMM, Lean Manufacturing, JIT, and AS9100 quality systems.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, continuous improvement techniques, and quality assurance methodologies in complex production environments.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Deep expertise in Lean Manufacturing principles and JIT production.
  • In-depth knowledge of the aerospace and PCB manufacturing industries, including regulatory standards.
  • Advanced proficiency in CMM systems and measurement analysis.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to lead teams, drive process improvements, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
