Johnson Service Group, a nationally recognized staffing firm, is targeting a Research and Development Engineer for our global manufacturing client. The position would sit onsite in Richmond, VA supporting the design cycle of new products with the power electronics sector, reporting to the Global R&D Technology Manager.

Responsibilities:
Provide design, development simulation, validation and documentation through all phases of design and testing.
Conduct and coordinate complex analysis, providing recommendations, engineering considerations and follow up for the design and development of power converters, uninterruptable power systems, and power protection components.
Plan and coordinate complex technology and engineering standards, focusing on semiconductors, inductors and passive components.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in electrical/electronic Engineering and focus on Power Electronics.
Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic with Power Electronics experience and 5+ years hands on experience.
5 years’ experience with Uninterruptable Power Systems, experience with power electronic topologies, power semiconductors and power protection.
Simulation tools, MATLAB/Simulink, LT Spice and C programming languages.
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work within the US.
