Job Description

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is currently looking for a Technical Sales Manager who will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth by understanding and addressing customer needs, identifying new application opportunities, influencing customer design decisions, and partnering with Account Managers to expand OEM relationships. This is a direct hire opportunity with a leader in precision mechanical components and custom engineering solutions located in Long Island NY. Preference is for a candidate in NJ, NY State, CT or Southern New England area.

Pay $110K

Objectives of the Role:
  • Develop New Application Opportunities:  Engage customers to uncover technical challenges and position Designatronics solutions that create measurable commercial value.
  • Lead Technical Discovery and Solution Development Across the Sales Cycle: Act as the primary technical advisor, providing expert support and guidance to help customers fully leverage SDP/SI’s products and achieve their goals.
  • Deliver Engaging Product Demonstrations: Conduct impactful product demonstrations and presentations, showcasing the unique value, functionality, and competitive advantages of our solutions.
  • Pursue New Growth Opportunities: Proactively originate and develop new OEM and design-in opportunities in partnership with Account Managers.
  • Build Lasting Customer Relationships: Foster and maintain strong customer relationships that boost satisfaction, increase loyalty, and drive repeat business.
  • Influence Sales Strategies and Contracts: Actively contribute to the development of sales strategies, offering technical insights to inform pricing models and support contract negotiations that drive revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Sales Strategy Development: Drive the creation and implementation of an innovative sales approach, positioning SDP/SI's products to meet market demands and customer needs.
  • Master Product Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of SDP/SI’s product lines, including technical features and applications, to effectively communicate value and differentiate our offerings.
  • Customer Solution Design: Assess customer pain points and business challenges to craft tailored solutions that meet unique technical requirements and add value.
  • Lead Product Demonstrations: Strategically conduct product demonstrations, proactively addressing technical inquiries and showcasing key product functionalities to influence purchasing decisions.
  • Guide Sales Engagements: Serve as the technical and commercial lead during customer discovery engagements, to advance opportunities and accelerate decision making.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a technical sales role, preferably as a Sales Engineer.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of the mechanical component market and customer base in the Tri-State Area.
  • Experience with CRM and sales management tools.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, especially product development and marketing.
