We are seeking a Senior Accountant (SOX and Financial Reporting) to join our client’s office in Houston, TX. This role reports to the Director of Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting and will play a critical role in SEC filings, SOX compliance, technical accounting, and financial reporting.

Location: Houston, TX (On-site, Energy Corridor – No remote work available) Salary: $110,000–$135,000 Industry: Advanced Nuclear Energy / Publicly Traded Clean Energy Firm
Must-Have Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA or CMA preferred)
5+ years of professional accounting experience, with 3+ years in SOX-compliant environments or public accounting
Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL, Oracle, or similar ERP systems
Strong Microsoft Excel skills (data analysis, pivot tables, formulas)
Prior experience reviewing contracts for accounting implications
Eligible to work under DOE 10 CFR Part 810
Responsibilities:
Prepare supporting schedules and contribute to SEC filings including 10-Q, 10-K, and MD&A
Analyze complex financial data and prepare related journal entries
Conduct quarterly fluctuation analyses across financial statements
Review company contracts for GAAP compliance and document findings
Maintain and enforce internal controls to ensure SOX compliance
Collaborate across departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
Familiarity with quality standards: 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1 (preferred)
