Job Description

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting for a, Senior Control Systems Engineer, for a 12-month contract assignment supporting the U.S. Air Force facility near Ogden, UT.  This onsite role offers a W2 hourly base rate with time and a half for overtime, per diem, and mobilization / demobilization. 

U.S. Citizenship is required.
Target W2 pay rate: $85.00/hour.

Position Summary:
Bechtel National is contracted to Northrop Grumman to provide launch system design, construction, and integration for the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) system.  This is U.S. Air Force program designed to modernize the nation’s ground element of the nuclear deterrent.  This role will prepare designs for systems associated with DOD and USAF projects.  Full time presence on project is required.

Responsibilities”
  • Preparing studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, and evaluations, in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements.
  • Review of and input to P&ID’s, preparation of logic diagrams, functional block diagrams, Instrument data sheets etc.
  • Prepare instrument index and I/O list using automated tools, vendor inputs, and Bechtel input as applicable.
  • Develop equipment and material specifications.
  • Develop procurement documentation.
  • Design Building Information Modeling and coordination with other disciplines.
  • Review vendor submittals and integrate information into the design solution.
  • Execute to schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product.
  • Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team.

Education / Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, or Electro-Mechanical engineering.
  • 9+ years of experience with drawings, calculations, and specifications for systems and equipment on nuclear or industrial process facilities, data centers, central utility plants, or complex building systems.
    • In lieu of degree, 15+ years of relevant experience.
  • Broad knowledge of the application of Control Systems engineering design principles.
  • Understanding of Mechanical and Process engineering discipline drawings and system calculations, as related to Control System design requirements.
  • Extensive knowledge and application Codes and Standards.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, data sheets and selection of instruments based on system application requirements.
  • Ability to utilize engineering and office automation tools effectively.
  • Experience with Microsoft office programs.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Electrical or Electro-Mechanical engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Knowledge of Bechtel Corporate guides and standards.
  • Lead or supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ISO-9000.
  • Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense.
  • Experience executing engineering design with Revit.
  • Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat specifications, or SpecsIntact.
  • Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide.
