Senior Director of Nuclear Plant Services

A leading nuclear firm is seeking a Senior Director of Nuclear Plant Services to lead the development and execution of innovative services across its fleet of nuclear plants while reporting to the VP of Regulatory Affairs and Services. This pivotal role will drive a fleet-wide approach to nuclear operations, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and scalability while delivering exceptional value to customers.

Location: Houston, TX (preferred) - could be open to remote (with regular engagement at Houston, Oregon and East Tennessee company offices)  Compensation: $240,000-$275,000 Travel: Up to 50%, depending on project demands
Must-Have Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Nuclear Science required. (MBA desired)
  • 15+ years of experience in nuclear reactor technology development, with at least 5 years leading a services delivery organization required.
  • Experience building and managing high-performing teams to meet future project needs.
  • Senior Reactor Operator certification, nuclear construction/startup, or nuclear technology/services business development experience preferred.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and leadership skills
  • Eligible to work under DOE 10 CFR Part 810 and able to work on an active nuclear power plant construction site as needed.
  • Knowledge of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1 standards.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy Development

  • Define and implement a catalogue of services supporting a fleet-wide nuclear plant strategy

  • Standardize and streamline deployment and operations across nuclear plants

Leadership & Team Management

  • Grow and oversee a high-performing team responsible for nuclear plant services

  • Foster collaboration across departments and customers

  • Lead cultural change from R&D focus to a Deliveries focus

Service Innovation & Optimization

  • Develop services to improve plant operational efficiency, reliability, and safety

  • Implement advanced technologies, including AI, to enhance deployment and operations

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and safety standards

Customer Support & Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers

  • Address customer needs and challenges proactively

Operational Execution

  • Manage departmental budgets with P&L responsibility

  • Establish performance metrics and report on service line outcomes
  • Provide executive-level reporting on operational performance
