Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting for a, Mid-Level andSenior-Level Pipe Support Engineer, for a 12-month contract assignment in Reston, VA.
These are hybrid positions and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the Reston office (12011 Sunset Hills Road / 20190).
U.S. Citizenship is required
Local or Regional candidates highly preferred (per diem is not available)
Mid-Level base pay rate: $75.00/hour
Senior-Level base pay rate: $90.00/hour
Project Overview:
These positions will support the Natrium project - part of a DOE initiative to advance U.S. leadership in nuclear energy production.  Natrium will play a key role in this advancement with development of a 345 MWe sodium fast reactor (SFR).Â
Responsibilities:
Perform modeling and pipe support calculations using GTStrudl.
Checking/reviewing isometrics using span tables.
Work closely with layout personnel and pipe stress engineers to deliver a quality and cost-effective design.
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required.
Checking designs done by others.
May include some lead activities.
Education / Experience:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree or Certificate in CAD Engineering is required.
5+ years of experience required for mid-level position.
8+ years of work experience required for senior-level position.
Prior experience using GTStrudl analysis software is required.
Knowledgeable of AISC structural code, ASME B31.3, B31.1 other relevant industry piping codes and standards.
Prior experience should include working in a 3D model environment & placement of pipe supports.
