Position: Senior RF Technician / Electro Mechanical Assembler Location: Los Angeles, CA Job Type: Contractor to Full-Time Hire
Overview:
Johnson Service Group is seeking an experienced Senior RF Technician/Electro Mechanical Assembler for an exciting contractor-to-hire opportunity with our client, a leading company in the manufacturing and technology sector. This role involves assembling, testing, and debugging RF instruments, along with supporting the development of new products and processes. Ideal candidates will have a background in RF instrumentation, electromechanical assembly, and experience working with IPC-A-610 Class III standards.
Responsibilities:
Assemble, test, and debug RF instruments and equipment.
Read and follow technical documentation, including flowcharts and assembly drawings.
Fabricate electronic assemblies, subassemblies, and systems, including PC boards, adhering to IPC 610 Class III standards.
Use specialized tools such as Vector Network Analyzer and Digital Oscilloscope for measurement and troubleshooting.
Inspect parts and assemblies to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
Perform rework and make improvements to assembly processes when necessary.
Conduct manufacturing inspections and assist in resolving assembly problems for special projects.
Maintain accurate records and logs of assembly activities and inventory levels.
Collaborate with engineering teams to support product development and assembly.
Train and assist other assemblers when needed and provide suggestions for process improvements.
Communicate product improvements and documentation recommendations to management.
Ensure production goals are met while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Strong experience with RF instrumentation and electromechanical assembly.
Proficiency in using Vector Network Analyzers and Digital Oscilloscopes.
Basic understanding of RF test and measurement systems.
Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, schematics, and assembly procedures.
Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing assembly issues.
Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
Strong attention to detail with a focus on minimizing defects.
Hands-on experience with hand soldering and use of standard hand tools.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum of a high school diploma with relevant technical training (an Associate’s degree or equivalent is preferred).
At least 5 years of experience as an RF Technician with electromechanical assembly experience.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
Successful completion of a background check.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to regularly lift and move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Requires good motor skills and dexterity for precise assembly work.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision for detailed work.
Work Environment:
The work environment may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts.
Noise levels are generally moderate.
