JSG is a professional search firm seeking a Set-Up Technician for one of our top manufacturing clients Job Summary
The Set-up technician is responsible for the proper set up of dies and machines and assisting in support tasks on the floor. Essential Tasks
Reading work orders to determine product specifications and tooling instructions and to plan operational sequences.
Selecting and setting up dies, using measuring instruments and hand tools.
Working with tooling to adjust the die components and ensuring the proper die is set up for the work order.
Troubleshooting the die adjustment when it is performing incorrectly in collaboration with the set-up lead.
Assisting in breaking set-up, including changeovers, requesting, and verifying proper material, providing raw materials, and samples as needed.
Verifying job set-up.
Following instructions to identify and mark materials, products, and samples.
Conducting preventive maintenance, including verifying the maintenance is current prior to machine startup. If further action is needed, consult with the supervisor.
Consulting with the production supervisor if machine maintenance is not current.
Monitoring perishable tooling.
Following temporary changes of process, change controls.
Complying with all safety regulations as defined in safety guidelines for the manufacturing floor.
Understanding and following SPECIAL CUSTOMER REQUIREMENTS
Understanding and following the non-conforming material guidelines.
Understanding and following quality alerts for known product defects or potential defects.
Understanding and following label requirements
Understanding and following 5s requirements
Understanding and following any rework or repair instructions
Understanding and following the Calibration System for measuring equipment
Any other duties as required. Knowledge
Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Mathematical—Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide, count) in different units of measurement.
Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and set-up tools.
Skills / Abilities
Language — Basic reading and writing in preferred language.
Tools- Use of hand and power tools
Communication— Conveying and understanding information.
Time management — Ensuring all materials are ready for change over.
Deductive Reasoning — The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
Near Vision — The ability to see details at close range.
Qualifications Education
High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
Forklift Certification, preferred.
Experience
No direct experience is required.
Recommend: Manufacturing related experience

Pay range $22 -25hr
