Johnson Service Group (JSG), a nationally recognized recruiting firm, is partnering with a global leader in the power and energy industry to identify a Senior Electrical Design Engineer. This individual will be responsible for designing and developing power transformer components, creating engineering documentation, and supporting new product development while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions. This is a full-time onsite opportunity.
*MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE DESIGNING HV TRANSFORMERS* *Must be willing to relocate to S. Boston, Virginia OR Alamo, TN
Responsibilities
Design and develop electrical systems and transformer components for new and existing products.
Perform engineering analysis, calculations, and evaluations to ensure designs meet technical and performance requirements.
Create manufacturing drawings, engineering documentation, bills of materials, and other supporting design packages.
Develop 3D models and perform simulations to validate product performance and resolve design challenges.
Partner with manufacturing, quality, sales, and other engineering teams to support product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Participate in design reviews, root cause investigations, and implementation of corrective actions to improve product reliability.
Provide technical support to customers by addressing engineering questions and assisting with product-related issues.
Prepare engineering specifications, technical reports, proposals, and documentation required for project execution and approvals.
Ensure all engineering activities comply with applicable company standards, industry regulations, and quality requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
5-8 years of electrical design experience, preferably within the power transformer or electrical equipment industry.
Solid understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals with the ability to apply them to product design and development.
Experience using AutoCAD and familiarity with 3D CAD software such as Creo or similar design platforms.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and standard engineering documentation practices.
Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to manage projects independently and collaborate across multiple departments.
