Johnson Service Group, an award winning staffing firm has an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant for a dynamic, fast-growing SaaS company.
Direct Hire | Hybrid | Salary range $75-85K Based on Experience
In this role you will be supporting the Sr. Staff Accountants and Assistant Controller in driving an efficient 8-day month-end close process. You’ll leverage your strong general accounting skills, proactive approach, communication abilities, and meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial reporting. Â
Key Responsibilities:
Own the Monthly Close Process: Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts to achieve a streamlined 8-day close.
Ensure Financial Accuracy: Perform thorough account analysis and execute necessary adjustments to maintain accurate financial records.
Drive Insightful Reporting: Prepare and contribute to monthly balance sheet and income statement trend and variance analysis.
Enhance Processes: Collaborate on designing and implementing process improvements across the accounting department to support scalability and efficiency.
Document & Standardize Procedures: Assist in creating clear, efficient documentation of new and existing processes to drive operational excellence.
Uphold Compliance & Accuracy: Ensure ERP system data integrity and adherence to GAAP principles.
Payroll & Benefits Reconciliation: Accurately record and reconcile payroll transactions, including 401k and benefits.
Commission Calculations: Perform complex monthly commission calculations for sales teams.
Contribute to Strategic Projects: Support special projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing our financial operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (BS/BA) required.
Experience: 2–4 years of accounting experience, ideally within a SaaS or high-growth technology environment.
Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas).
Software Knowledge: Familiarity with platforms like Salesforce, Zuora, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems preferred.
Industry Experience: Exposure to SaaS financial models and subscription-based revenue recognition is a plus.
Growth Mindset: Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments through organic initiatives or acquisitions preferred.
Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of management in a team-oriented environment.
Detail-Oriented & Analytical: Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
Adaptability: Comfortable performing ad-hoc research, analysis, and contributing to evolving processes.
