Johnson Service Group is seeking a Technical Product Manager – IT Infrastructure & Virtualization for a financial services organization in Orange County, CA.
On-site role transitioning to hybrid after 6 months
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $55–$62.50/hr (DOE)
Position Summary
This role bridges product management and IT infrastructure, focusing on the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of virtual server hosting solutions within a data center environment.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with virtualization technologies, server infrastructure, and networking, along with the ability to engage directly with clients to support application hosting, troubleshoot issues, and translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Infrastructure & Virtualization
Design, deploy, and manage virtual server hosting environments (VMware/Hyper-V) in a data center setting
Oversee server builds, configuration, and capacity planning (CPU, RAM, storage) based on business and client needs
Manage and support Windows Server and Linux environments within virtualized infrastructure
Work with SAN/NAS storage solutions to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability
Implement and support backup, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions
Networking & Systems Integration
Support and troubleshoot network infrastructure including VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, and connectivity between systems
Collaborate with infrastructure teams on network performance, security, and system integrations
Ensure reliable application hosting and system availability across environments
Client-Facing & Support
Act as a technical liaison for clients, providing support for application hosting, performance issues, and infrastructure-related inquiries
Troubleshoot and resolve end-user and client-facing system issues end-to-end
Gather client requirements and translate them into technical infrastructure solutions
Product & Project Management
Own the lifecycle of infrastructure-related products and services from concept through deployment
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and business teams to define requirements, scope projects, and prioritize deliverables
Maintain product documentation, roadmaps, and release plans aligned with business and client needs
Lead cross-functional coordination for new implementations, integrations, and system enhancements
Required Experience & Skills
Hands-on experience building and deploying servers in data center environments
Strong experience with VMware (or Hyper-V), Windows Server, and Linux
Experience with SAN storage and virtualized infrastructure environments
Working knowledge of networking technologies (VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, TCP/IP)
Proven ability to troubleshoot application hosting and infrastructure issues
Experience with capacity planning, hardware sizing, and infrastructure scaling
Strong client-facing communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience in product management, project management, or technical program management
Strong documentation and stakeholder management skills
