Johnson Service Group (JSG) is proud to be supporting our client an industry-leading, multidisciplinary engineering firm known for innovative solutions in water resources and environmental services. Our client is seeking a Water Resources Group Leader to help expand and lead their Inland Northwest practice.
About the Role:
As the Inland Northwest Water Resources Group Leader, you’ll play a strategic role in growing the water resources practice across the region. You will guide technical project delivery, support business development, and lead a highly skilled team of engineers and technical professionals. This role offers flexibility in location—Boise, Spokane, or Coeur d’Alene and will be instrumental in driving regional impact through infrastructure and environmental projects.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and grow the Water Resources practice in the Inland Northwest.

  • Guide project teams through complex water infrastructure and planning initiatives.

  • Oversee technical delivery, ensuring on-time and high-quality project execution.

  • Mentor and develop staff, foster collaboration, and support career growth.

  • Serve as a pursuit champion and project manager on key water resource initiatives.

  • Collaborate with leadership on resource planning and financial performance.

  • Partner with public agencies on fish passage, floodplain management, hydrology, stormwater, and more.
Desired Expertise Areas:

  • Fish passage design and geomorphology

  • Surface/stormwater management & planning

  • Floodplain modeling and mitigation

  • Hydrologic/hydraulic analyses (HEC-RAS, SMS/SRH-2D, etc.)

  • Surface water facility and conveyance system design
Qualifications:
Basic:

  • 15+ years of experience in water resources engineering

  • 5+ years of experience in project or practice leadership

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Idaho or Washington

  • Proven success managing client relationships and technical delivery

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

  • 20+ years of experience

  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM)

  • Familiarity with DOTs, public works, and regulatory agencies

  • Proficiency in engineering software such as Civil3D, HEC-RAS, ArcGIS, and others

Salary $100,000 - 190,000 and is based on applicable experience and location
