Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized Contract Engineering and Technical Staffing firm specializing in Engineering and Manufacturing. We are currently recruiting for a Distribution Industrial Engineer

Must be local (will not consider out of state candidates) and able to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Position Summary

The Distribution Industrial Engineer will be responsible for all Distribution Operations Engineering related tasks. The goal of this role is to directly support a rapidly growing Distribution operation by increasing productivity, reducing cost, and relentlessly producing improvements that add measurable value. This role will be required to improve fulfillment speed, increase accuracy, and deliver better service to customer base.


Partner with the warehouse database administrator to create automated solutions
Developing warehouse storage plans per facility
Standard Operating Procedure writing, mapping, filing, and auditing for compliance
Receiving Quality control measures
Add value through quality and productivity improvement projects
Collect data and provide feedback for processes and design improvements
Ownership of the Warehouse slotting program plans
Create automation solutions to increase throughput and reduce cost
Facility design drawings and efficiency recommendations
Warehouse Management System Evaluation and Implementation
Equipment PM program design, maintaining, and recommendations


4 Year Degree in Industrial Engineering from an accredited University
At least 2 years of experience supporting a growing newly automated warehouse operations environment
Strong knowledge of Industrial Engineering principles that pertain to warehousing, logistics & supply chain including experience with: Time and motion studies, ergonomic evaluations, Lean initiatives, quality metrics, and productivity improvements
Proficient with WMS systems
Advanced Excel Proficiency
Analytical skills including a familiarity with data gathering, measuring, and reporting

Required Skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office software (specifically Excel)
Experience developing, maintaining, and auditing standard work.
Strong interpersonal skills: able to establish relationships & contribute in a team setting
Strong leadership capabilities with solid judgment and the ability to make good fact- based decisions
Detail oriented to ensure accurac
