Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized Contract Engineering and Technical Staffing firm specializing in civil and structural engineering. We are currently recruiting for a Forensic Structural Engineer with 5-7 years’ experience with residential, commercial, or municipal projects to work for a client of ours. Details are as follows:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Generate and implement engineering solutions that impact field of specialty.
  • Provide technical consultation to help clients and staff solve problems.
  • Building and sustaining effective relationships with current and potential customers through regular communication.
  • Manage multiple projects within specified timeline and under budget if possible.
  • Define the potential scope of projects through analysis and evaluation of alternate solutions to the customer’s problem.
  • Write proposals, qualify project and customer, and attain approval to proceed.
  • Select and train – Work with project team members and review work, giving – and receiving feedback as appropriate.
  • Execute work which may include one or more of the following (field or lab): Forensic evaluation, surveying, investigations, calculations, analytical, research, design, drawings, contractor supervision and construction administration, engineering test methods and procedures, supervision of testing, forensic and litigation activities.
  • Analyze and interpret project results and prepare reports.

Skills:

  • Technical competence in roofing, waterproofing, and exterior wall system design, construction, building enclosure systems and assemblies for air, water, structural, and thermal performance
  • Good verbal and written communications - Providing consultative advice to remedying problems with clients, might have to provide testimony in a hearing, etc
  • Candidate will be dealing with Attorneys, Clients, Insurance Companies, Contractors and Sub-Contractors.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Soft Skills - Customer facing, Welcoming, Flexible and Nimble, Consulting, Thought Leadership, and Must be able to work in a team and independently.
