Johnson Service Group is a Tier 1 vendor for TVA and we are recruiting to fill an open requisition for an experienced, IT Project Manager, at the downtown Chattanooga office.
This position will support projects that are critical to the security, reliability, and compliance of the IT infrastructure. Ideal qualifications would include 5-6 years of experience directly managing IT infrastructure projects (O/S, database, LAN, backup/storage, etc.) working in a matrix environment with familiarity in Agile Scrum methodology.

- W2 Hourly Pay Rate: (time & half for overtime)
- Duration: 12 months
- Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday
Role Overview:
- THE PROJECT MANAGER IS THE SINGLE POINT OF CONTACT REGARDING A SPECIFIC PROJECT AND IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OVERALL PLANNING, DIRECTION, MANAGEMENT, COORDINATION, IMPLEMENTATION, EXECUTION, CONTROL AND COMPLETION ACCORDING TO SPECIFICATIONS, WITHIN BUDGET COST FROM INITIATION THROUGH COMPLETION.
- APPLIES PROFESSIONAL PRINCIPLES, PRACTICES AND TECHNIQUES TO MANAGE AND CONTROL PROJECT SCHEDULE, COST AND PERFORMANCE RISK TO ENSURE PROJECT IS COMPLETED WITHIN A CERTAIN SET OF RESTRAINTS (E.G., TIME, BUDGET, PEOPLE, QUALITY, MATERIALS)
- THIS ROLE IS GENERALLY ASSIGNED MEDIUM SIZE PROJECTS, OR FUNCTIONS WITHIN A LARGER PROJECT, AND LEADS JOINT PROJECT TEAMS.
Education / Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
- Requires 5 years utility project manager experience, or equivalent functional area work experience with increasing levels or position responsibility
- Requires knowledge of project management techniques, experience to resolve complex problems, and practical experience in project scoping and cost estimating
- Requires ability to analyze in-depth technical problems and determine the most cost-effective solution.
Project Management Institute (PMI) certification as Project Management Professional (PMP) is desired
- Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position / access requirements and essential job functions
- TVA is currently in required remote status until June 1, 2021
- Post-COVID, this role will be expected to be onsite at the Chattanooga office complex, with hours/days to be determined
