JSG has a contract opening for a Mechanical Engineering Technologist in Wilmington, DE. This position is approved for one year and could be extended.
Applicant will be responsible for planning and production of composite materials, evaluation of material performance and communicating results. This will involve assisting with the installation and operation of new equipment for production of composite materials. Preparing for and running mechanical tests, analyzing test data using MATLAB and helping to determine benefits of various composite formulations.
Desired skills:
- Experience with Instron load frames, load cells, displacement sensors
- Proficient with MATLAB programing for digital signal processing and data analysis
- Proficient with MS Excel
- Thinks through test data; recognizes and communicates anomalies; Makes conclusions about results.
- Good written and oral communication
Qualifications:
- Due to nature of work candidates must be a US citizen
- Hold a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent career experience.
- Organized, Detail oriented
- Comfortable using tools and working hands-on.
