Onsite Maintenance Technician – Automation

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is actively searching for an Onsite Maintenance Technician for our client’s operation near South Bend, IN.

This position is initially setup as a 6+ month contract (possibly contract to hire) and is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure with a high-tech industry leader.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support of company’s equipment at customer site.
  • Perform daily preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Plan and co-ordinate maintenance service activities together with customer.
  • Inspection and troubleshooting analysis of equipment and systems.
  • Ongoing supervision of system functionality.
  • Oversight of customer’s spare parts inventory as it relates to company’s equipment.
  • Participate in any initiatives to improve the system and practices with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide continuous operator and maintenance training for both customer and company employees.
  • Participate in weekly customer meetings.
  • Act as main contact between customer and the company.
  • Responsible for building strong relationships with customer that foster long term business relationships.
  • Ensure all company and customer health and safety policies, procedures, and responsibilities under OSHA are followed during all work activities at customer site.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience working in an industrial/engineering/automation environment.
  • Associate’s Degree in Technology or related discipline, or a combination of education and experience.
  • General knowledge of automation and robot technologies including mechanical, electrical, and software systems.
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance on various automation equipment.
  • Ability to train customers on automation equipment through effective communication, demonstration, and formal instruction.
  • Experience in a customer service environment dealing with clients to resolve problems.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure in a multi-disciplined environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to deal courteously and effectively with customers.
  • Problem-solving skills on mechanical, electrical and software issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Outlook, and the Internet.
