This is a 4 month contract opportunity with our top client in Wilmington, DE.

Candidates must have strong computer skills in SAP and Microsoft Excel!!

Plant Cost Accounting or Prior Inventory Accounting experience is required.

Maintains general ledgers and performs the complete accounting cycle in compliance with established practices and generally accepted accounting principles. Adheres to internal control policies and procedures. Analyzes data and translates into meaningful information. Provides management and financial statement users with relevant, comparable, and accurate data on which to base decisions. Continuously improves and serves as a resource in their area of transactional activity.

Responsibilities:
Develop an in-depth knowledge of business processes to support plant accounting, inventory, cost of goods sold (COGs) and permanent investment.

  • Responsible for plant accounting related activities and leading plant related general ledger closing activities.
  • Responsible for monitoring ending inventory balances and COGs by performing unit rate analysis on monthly basis.
  • Coordinate preparation of the monthly outlook and support preparation of annual budget.
  • Prepare analysis of plant costs and variances to outlook, prior periods, and budget.
  • Provide accurate and timely reports to management.
  • Support finance master data import mapping during SAP implementation. Perform on-going data maintenance to support business processes changes as a key member of team supporting finance master data process.
  • Prepare account reconciliations.
  • Maintain fixed asset register for US legal entity in SAP and asset creation/capitalization.
  • Serve as a resource for the Plant Manager, CFO, and Operations VP with inventory and asset related issues, questions and inquiries.
  • Active/Integral member of the Finance team focused on driving standardization, simplification and process improvements.
  • Create, maintain & communicate documentation and process training.
  • Ensure SOX compliance.
  • Promote financial stewardship and ensure that financial practices are in accordance with GAAP,
  • The preferred location for this position will be based in the Northern Delaware / Wilmington area. Flexible and/or remote arrangements will be considered.
  • Some travel to North Carolina and/or other sites will be required (~10%)


Education/Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Plant Cost Accounting or Prior Inventory Accounting experience required
  • Permanent Investment Accounting experience required
  • Strong computer skills in SAP and Microsoft Excel required
