- provide direct leadership of specific areas within the Plant Supply Chain such as receiving and preparation of raw materials, fill and close seaming processes, thermal retort processes, and labeling or shipping product

- analyze the key measures of cost, quantity, timeliness, safety, and productivity daily

- build operating and capital budgets in collaboration with teams to achieve short- and long-range objectives

- develop and motivate direct reports through effective leadership and communication principles

- function well in a team-based, feedback-rich environment

- display strong interpersonal skills and get along well with coworkers

- direct team leadership to meet area, plant, and company objectives

- effectively and efficiently utilize company materials and equipment and leadership of area employees

- maintain direct responsibility for all aspects of quality, safety, productivity, and maintenance

- train and develop team members and ensure area is appropriately staffed to meet operational objectives

- create, implement, and analyze operational budgets for specific areas of responsibility (including root cause analysis of issues and action plan steps to improve performance to budget)

- plan and oversee area capital budgets and projects (including vendor relations, negotiation, safety performance, site communication, and overall coordination of activities related to projects)


- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field; OR a minimum of an associate's degree in a business-related field AND a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience

- Better Process Control School for Food Processing

- Computer skills including use of Microsoft Office and web-based programs

- Facilitation, coaching, and team-building skills

- Lean Manufacturing tools; 6S, SMED and Kaizen, SPC, General mechanical/manufacturing knowledge

- Socially Astute

- Effective Communication Skills – Internal & External to include listening skills

- Adaptable – environments, cultures, ongoing change

- Reasonably outgoing, with high energy, yet not overpowering with masses of operators

- Self-confident, Decisive….but not high ego

- Facilitation Skills – to work in and build a team based, focused environment

- Strong Results Orientation

- Extraordinary technical skills – relative to business and leadership role

- Experience/Background/Knowledge of Food Processing and Production
