Johnson Service Group, a nationwide engineering and technical staffing company is looking to fill a full-time Quality Control Engineer role with one of our clients in the Western Suburbs. This person will perform laboratory testing to ensure materials and products meet design criteria and standard of quality. Assist in Quality Assurance audits assuring company standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved. Consult with management to resolve quality, production and efficiency problems.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee/Maintain and prepare testing equipment
- Document and provide data reporting to manager
- Perform special testing as required
- Act as a liaison between plant and engineering regarding repairs and questions concerning piece parts
- Aid in the external and internal quality audits
- Troubleshoot equipment and processes within the department
- Recommend/implement improvements to the department
- Ensure the Quality Systems Manual is followed and maintained per standards
- Manage all data collected daily, weekly, and monthly
- Maintain compliance with calibration requirements of testing and manufacturing equipment
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed
Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong computer skills needed; Microsoft Office Proficiency required
- Good mathematical aptitude
- Ability to read/interpret construction documents and technical journals
- Ability to manage about twelve multiple projects simultaneously
- Exhibits good work ethic and decision making
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Concrete related experience preferred
- ACI certification preferred
- Strong leadership skills
- Material testing and laboratory experience preferred
