Position Summary: 

General Information

The Risk Coordinator role has a broad range of duties involved in the development and coordination of project quality risk related activities including; continual improvement, performance measuring and reporting and stakeholder coordination meetings. The successful candidate must be able to think strategically, and work with a myriad of stakeholders from multiple department groups to assist with Hazard Identification and Risk Management.


  • Facilitate Hazard and Risk sessions with stakeholder’s groups and leaders including development and distribution of presentations and documentation (meeting minutes, and communication of key messages to the Project team)
  • Support ongoing project risk management activities and reporting
  • Understand and analyze key project documentation (Project Execution Plans, Business Cases) to facilitate risk analysis
  • Generation of probabilistic risk analysis, Risk Assessment and reporting at all phases of the project lifecycle for qualitative risk
  • Support the implementation and management of project risk data base and related reporting
  • Provides hazard identification and risk management process and risk management training to project team
  • Initiates periodic reviews of qualitative risk register items to track changes in status, assessment and monitor the effectiveness of current implemented barriers, controls and mitigations
  • Ensures risk action plans are being progressed to completion and implemented effectively
  • Interface for Risk management with MOC and Risk and Contingency Management Process
  • Other tasks as required


  • Ability to establish strong relationships to build understanding of customer business needs and required outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to utilize those skills during interactions with project team members.
  • Motivated self-starter who works well under pressure with excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Attention to detail and demonstrated experience producing high-quality and error and omission-free deliverables within tight deadlines.
  • Strong working knowledge of use of project management systems, applications and tools in project environment.
  • Demonstrated strengths in communications (verbal, written, presentations and facilitation)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently to manage multiple and competing priorities, and to adapt to a changing environment
  • Business maturity and awareness with topics and matters that are confidential and competition sensitive
  • Attitude and aptitude for continuous improvement and change management
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI and intermediate understanding of statistics

Education/ Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering, Science or related post-secondary degree is required
  • Minimum of 6 years` experience is required
  • Construction experience in Oil and Gas Industry would be preferred
  • Exposure to complex project management environments and an understanding of the differing interdependencies that need to be considered would also be an asset
