Johnson Service Group (JSG) is actively searching for Sheet metal Mechanics with 2 years of experience for a long-term contract in Greensboro, NC. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience with an aerospace industry leader. The Sheet metal Mechanic is responsible to inspect, overhaul, repair, modify, and troubleshoot air frame parts, systems, and components and is responsible to perform work within estimated time and within the client's Airframe Services, FAA, and customer standards of quality.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of the Sheet metal Mechanic are as follows:

  • Maintain, modify and install the various components of aircraft sheet metal.
  • Repair, rework, install and fabricate the complex aircraft structural assemblies, both internal and external.
  • Lay out plans, fabrication and installation models for modifications.
  • Perform checks; carry out inspections and removal of components.
  • Study technical manuals, blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Provide assistance to aircraft technicians and mechanics on various tasks.
  • Remove and disassemble defective parts of the aircraft.
  • Perform final checks on assembly and installation of parts that were replaced

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
1. Effectively communicate with and assist Aircraft Engineers in the development of repair solutions and modifications for transport category aircraft.
2. Fabricate parts and assemblies.
3. Inspect, overhaul, repair, modify, and troubleshoot air frame parts, systems, and components.
4. Follow all applicable specifications to accomplish a specific task.
5. Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
6. Perform work within estimated hours.
7. Follow all safety procedures and specifications.
8. Execute all required paperwork in connection with assigned normal duties.
9. Use and operate ground support equipment, as applicable and if qualified, in a safe manner.
10. Work with little or no supervision and accomplish assignments with little or no rework.
11. Assist other employees in the performance of their job assignments through coaching, counseling, and guidance.
12. Interface effectively with members of management, other departments, and co-workers.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Must have the minimum tools as required.
  • Must be willing to work any shift
  • Must be willing to work overtime, as requested
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have 2 years of experience.
