Job Summary:
  • To manage a team providing first-class maintenance support to our customer/s on operations and maintenance of automated storage and retrieval systems, and storage and picking systems, installed at our customer’s location
  • Possess proven experience managing an on-site maintenance team that deals with electro-mechanical faults and preventative maintenance operations on automated materials handling equipment within a warehouse environment
  • The Site Maintenance Manager will be eager and determined to succeed though effective leadership with regard to customer responsiveness and customer service
  • Create a safety culture in all activities undertaken by himself/herself and your site team
  • Demonstrating a track record of owning problems and taking them through to successful completion. The Site Maintenance Manager may be required to respond to emergency calls
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • As the Site Maintenance Manager, you are responsible for the development of the team, the implementation and day-to-day supervision of the maintenance programs, processes, people, and documentation associated with efficient and high-performing automated storage and retrieval systems, and storage and picking systems installed at “Our Customer’s” locations.
  • This also includes: being responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships on the customer site/s, understanding and leading preventive and predictive maintenance programs, following all SOP’s, Safety Policies, etc., making sure your leadership team is identifying the appropriate time to escalate the issues following the agreed upon escalation procedures
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

This position requires a wide range of responsibilities; including but not limited to the following:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Resident Site Manager
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
  • Ultimate site supervision and leadership, including: oversight of candidates in the processes of interviewing, hiring, and training of potential site team; planning, assigning, and directing work; mentor, coach, teach, develop on-site staff and resources, and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees as the member of the leadership team; addressing complaints and assisting in providing appropriate resolutions, as needed
  • Oversight of all training requirements, both technical and regulatory
  • Provide complete customer satisfaction while enhancing the reputation of the Company
  • Provide value that “Our Customer” can see and understand
  • Gain a reputation for rapid and effective support
  • Manage site budgets and associated commercial activities
  • Oversight of tasks with development of team member’s skill-sets to ensure delivery of defined SLA
  • Oversight, as the on-site representative, of all system improvements and installations
  • Increase the scope and efficiency of the Company's support solutions
  • Provide guidance for your team to work against time frames to complete reactive repairs
  • Interact with on-site and off-site management, keeping them informed of local issues and successes, and addressing all concerns in a professional manner
  • Provided ultimate accountability for health & safety considerations with regard to given tasks and be able to carry out risk assessments
  • Provide monthly summary and detailed reports covering commercial and technical activities
  • Improve the service level and optimize resource utilisation through adoption of industry best-practices
  • Manage, through direct reports, the provision of quality support and maintenance services of all live information systems
  • Plan and implement system security policy
  • Manage, through direct reports, the daily activities of all personnel
  • Appreciation of cultural diversity
  • Promote alignment of MHE maintenance objectives
  • Resolve any resourcing issues beyond the control of the Resident Site Manager
  • Champion internal maintenance team review meetings
  • Managing process improvements to ensure that the delivery of service increases customer satisfaction
  • Ensures the maintenance team maintains an excellent level of customer satisfaction while providing acceptable level of commercial return
  • Develop and manage maintenance budgets and cost projection
  • Accountability to ensure every team member fully understands the commercial implications of any decision they make
  • Accountable for Quality and Health and Safety within the maintenance scope
  • Monitor and update the MHE risk register
  • Continually assess and resolve the supplier's resource requirement
  • Accountability for the production and maintenance of the MHE PPM work schedules
  • Assist in the identification and monitoring of the MHE maintenance team’s interfaces
  • Liaise with the customer’s operations Shift Managers & the supplier's First Line Managers to ensure the safe and efficient management of the MHE scope of work
  • Assess and report MHE progress and attendance at meetings
  • Assist the MHE QA and HSE adviser in verifying adherence to all relevant standards and procedures
  • Approve revised MHE documents, drawings, and correspondence prior to issue
  • Management of the MHE and the Maintenance Cost Plan
  • Monitor progress of associated sub-suppliers
  • Ensure the timely supply of MHE maintenance hardware
  • Assistance with MHE Quality, Health and Safety within the MHE maintenance scope
  • Continuance of the MHE Health and Safety File
  • Ultimate accountability for correctness and proper allocation of all spares inventory
  • The custodian of the site escalation and grievance procedures related to the MHE maintenance scope
  • Participate in work-related performance improvement programs
  • Participate in work-related training and individual improvement programs
Working Conditions and Environment:
  • Semi-Advanced to advanced technical understanding
  • Weekends and overtime, if required by workload
  • Professional office etiquette is required at all times
  • Appreciation of cultural diversity
  • Occasional travel required (must have passport)
Education & Experience:
  • Degree in Business Management, Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent work experience
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience as Maintenance Repairman, Maintenance Electrician, Machine Repairman, or Industrial Maintenance Engineer that led to Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager
  • Experience providing leadership for repairs on various types of machinery systems, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) and or (English/German) preferred, but not required
