JSG is seeking a Sr. Process Engineer for our global manufacturing client in the greater Jackson, MS area. The incumbent will perform a variety of complex engineering assignments requiring in-depth knowledge of a specific engineering discipline plus an understanding of related disciplines to cost effectively achieve objectives. Assignments typically require the use of advanced and innovative techniques. Proactively seek and implement initiatives to improve operations and increase customer satisfaction.

Duties

  • Responsible for development and application of assembly and testing processes and utilization of specialized equipment including PC control systems, database interfaces, high voltage equipment, and measurement devices
  • This role also provides technical and process assistance for test floor and production systems as well as conduct economic studies and prepare specifications, proposals for contracts, licensing and safety documents, and obtain required approvals
  • Design, analyze, and evaluate all systems for transformers, ensuring reliability and availability
  • Conceptualize, plan and install high voltage tests systems including partial discharge measurement, impulse test, and AC test sets for testing equipment
  • Customize and develop safety systems to enable safe and reliable use of high voltage test systems.
  • Under limited direction, perform a variety of complex engineering assignments to achieve an effective cost savings objective
  • Assignments typically require the use of advanced and innovative techniques
  • Proactively seek and implement initiatives to improve operations and increase customer satisfaction

Required

  • Requires bachelor’s in electrical engineering and 5 years of experience in transformer manufacturing process or 5 years of experience utilizing high voltage, magnetism and electrostatic theory, partial discharge, instrumentation control, software design, and database connectivity
  • Experience with programming PLCs is ideal
  • Experience using and implementing lean production system or tools to achieve operational efficiency and waste reduction.
  • 5 years of experience in managing capital projects
