Direct Hire position in Knoxville, Tennessee.
OVERVIEW
Looking for an experienced administrator who has a track record of deep diving into environments and projects to gain a good understanding of the technology stacks required. They should be familiar with one or more configuration management software packages. Any experience with application integration or software development would be a big bonus as would exposure to container technology. Should be prepared to support 24/7/365 day a year business as part of team of 8 administrators
FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, maintain, and support a highly available Linux server plant in a fast-paced enterprise environment
- Design, deploy, support, and maintain systems running: Red Hat Linux and CentOS
- Consult with other technology teams
- Mentor junior staff & educate peers
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of Linux/Unix Administration
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science
- Extensive experience with configuration management tools
- Experience with application integration or software development is preferred
- Experience with container technologies is a plus
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and diagramming skills
- Ability to work closely with peers, team members, and others in a collaborative manner
- At-hand knowledge of shell commands
- Detailed knowledge of TCP/IP and the common standards-based protocols that use it
- Work history supporting 24/7 mission-critical Linux/Unix systems
